A selective student award for exceptional creative promise or achievement. We recognise distinctive design sensibility and creative judgement, and support students in developing their talent.
For invention, innovation, design thinking, art and project work.
What can be submitted
Any design, art, innovation or invention project that brings new meaning or enjoyment to people, or proposes a new solution to a real need. AI must have played a part in how the idea was conceived or developed, and your submission must show where. Human authorship and judgement must remain evident: the ideas, choices and final decisions must be the student’s own.
No purchase or workshop attendance required. You do not need to use Hypersketch to be considered.

A distinctive way of seeing, thinking and creating.
Some students reveal unusual promise before they have a polished portfolio. Others demonstrate it through a thoughtfully developed project. This award recognises either: exceptional creative potential or exceptional creative achievement.
Exceptional creative promise
An unusually perceptive eye, original thinking or thoughtful creative decisions, even when the work is still developing.
Exceptional creative achievement
A strong original idea or outcome, supported by evidence of meaningful development and the student’s own contribution.
The standard is high. A polished AI image or fluency with a particular tool is not enough on its own.

Each awarded recipient receives recognition of their distinctive strengths, practical support to keep exploring, and personal guidance from the design industry.

Personalised award recognition
An official certificate and individual selection citation recognising the recipient’s creative strengths, with an award letter and announcement materials for their school.

One year of Hypersketch Pro
A sponsored personal licence to continue exploring and developing ideas. Student access arrangements will be confirmed with the recipient and their parent or guardian.
Valued at S$336: Hypersketch Pro is S$28 a month, for 12 months.

S$150 Creative Development Allowance
Support for materials, tools, books, other creative software or relevant courses that help the recipient explore, experiment and develop their interests.
This allowance cannot be spent on Hypersketch itself, including subscriptions, renewals, upgrades or credits.
How the allowance works
Support is arranged individually with each recipient and their parent or guardian. You can choose a suitable voucher where available, or propose a creative resource, tool, purchase or course.
Examples include design books, art and prototyping materials, other creative software, and relevant courses. Purchases from design, art or innovation-related shops, such as {{ retailerExamples }}, may be suitable. Specific retailer and voucher options depend on availability and approval.
Agree the arrangement with us before buying. We will normally arrange a voucher or pay for an approved purchase or course directly, rather than require the family to pay first.

A 45-minute Creative Director Session
A personal session with a STUCK Design creative director, shaped around the recipient’s interests. Discuss a current project, explore creative study and career pathways, or visit our studio with a parent or guardian to discover how professional designers work. No prepared project is required.

The award recognises the talent you have shown, and supports what you might discover next.
Includes S$486 in software and creative-development support, alongside the Creative Director Session and formal recognition.
Two ways to be considered. One high standard.
Creative director nomination
A STUCK Design creative director may nominate a student after observing exceptional creative judgement or promise during a workshop, or through their submitted work process. A nomination is supported by specific examples and considered through the award’s review process; it is not an automatic award.
Open project submission
Submit one project that shows meaningful, thoughtful, creative and skilful use of AI to develop an original idea. You may use Hypersketch or another AI tool. Show the thinking and decisions behind the result, not just the finished image.

Both routes can recognise creative promise or creative achievement. Neither requires a purchase, and workshop attendance carries no guaranteed award or preferential treatment.
We look for the student’s contribution, not just the AI’s output.

Exploring alternatives, responding intelligently to problems, and improving an idea rather than stopping at the first attractive result.
Work is considered in relation to the student’s age, developmental stage and opportunities. Achievement-based recognition requires a strong outcome; promise-based recognition requires specific evidence of exceptional potential, even if the outcome is unfinished.
Reviewers may request a brief conversation to understand a student’s contribution. To maintain a high bar, awards are not guaranteed in any round: selections depend on the quality of the evidence.

Projects will be reviewed by design educators and practising creative directors, convened by STUCK Design.
The review panel will be announced before open submissions begin.

You do not need a large portfolio. Prepare one project case study that helps us understand the idea, the process and your contribution.

What were you trying to create or explore?
Explain the purpose and show the starting point.

Which decisions made the biggest difference?
Show a few key stages, what you changed or rejected, and why.

What did you contribute that the AI did not decide for you?
Show the result and identify your own contribution, including any support from other people.
Aim for five to eight slides or pages, or an agreed accessible equivalent. Include the AI tools used and any teacher, family or teammate assistance. Clear evidence matters more than presentation polish.
A team project can be used as evidence if you identify your own contribution and have permission to share the material. The award is individual; a submission does not automatically confer awards on every teammate.

In five to eight slides or pages, show the development process and thinking very clearly, not just the final outcome: where the idea started, the key decisions, and what was changed or rejected along the way.
You do not need to use Hypersketch. Work developed with any AI tool is welcome. In your email, include the student’s name and school, the AI tools used, and who helped. Consideration is free, and the work remains fully yours. {{ config.acknowledgement }}
How we handle entries: confidential by default and seen only by the review committee.
Developing an invention you may want to protect? We will never disclose your entry without your permission. Entries are seen only by the judges and our administrative team, are kept confidential and are never published, so submitting is treated as a confidential disclosure, not a public one. If you want robust protection, we recommend filing at least a provisional patent or design registration before you submit.

How we look after every entry, and what happens if a student is selected.
Confidential by default
All entries, and the fact that a student has taken part, are kept confidential. The work remains fully the participant’s own. Submissions are seen only by the review committee and are used only to consider the student for the award.
Acknowledged and answered
We reply to confirm that each entry has been received. Every entrant is told the outcome after the monthly review, including when they are not selected.
Parental consent before the award
If a selected student is under 18, we will contact their parent or legal guardian to obtain consent before the award is conferred.
Nothing is shown without written agreement
We will not publish or showcase a recipient’s name, image or work unless we first have confirmation in writing from the recipient and, if they are under 18, their parent or guardian. Declining publicity does not affect the award.
